I didn’t have much faith in social services due to stories I had heard and what I saw around me every day. At the helpdesk, I slowly began to trust people in my community, especially when it came to my child. I started discussing my problems and became more open.
I was helped with love, but I was also confronted with the reality of how I could do things better.
Despite my stubborn nature, I could appreciate this, and now I have a stable living environment, my own home, and income. Due to a lot of strength from within and help from the Young Mothers Helpdesk (Loket voor Jonge Moeders).
