About us

Hey! We are the Young Mothers Helpdesk (Loket voor Jonge Moeders)!

Pauline, Linda, Djela, Marina, and Nathalie.

We aim to support young (expecting) mothers and fathers in a welcoming way through the journey of young parenthood. We are a small team (part of Stichting JESS) and our goal is to provide positive, non-judgmental support to young parents, so they can grow into their roles as new mothers or fathers.

All of our staff is SKJ registered.

We are:

Pauline

I’m Pauline Boes, co-founder of the Young Mothers Helpdesk (Loket voor Jonge Moeders). My role at the helpdesk is quite varied; I like to get involved in everything. My favorite part is having conversations with (expecting) young mothers, alongside making plans on how to improve our assistance and make ourselves even more accessible. Plus, I have a team of incredibly enthusiastic and friendly colleagues, so time flies by, and no day is the same.

Linda

Hi, I’m Linda, a mother of three, and I’ve been working at the Young Mothers Helpdesk (Loket voor Jonge Moeders) for a while now. I started assisting young mothers in the housing project for studying young mothers shortly after graduating. I have great admiration for this group of studying young mothers. Combining school and young parenthood, RESPECT! Additionally, I really enjoy supporting new (expectant) mothers and fathers and helping them prepare for life with a child.

Djela

Hi, I’m Djela, and I work at the Young Mothers Helpdesk (Loket voor Jonge Moeders). I work with young mothers and fathers under the age of 27. Because I work with young mothers, people often assume that I was a young single mother myself. I was 23 when I had my first child, and I don’t really consider that very young, but there are always prejudices. I’m not a single parent either because I’ve been married to Dennis for 25 years, and now we’re grandparents, which is so much fun! My work is important; I still find fulfillment in it, and that’s important to me. At the Young Mothers Helpdesk, I assist studying young mothers in our housing project and mothers who live on their own with practical questions. Expecting grandparents can also come to the helpdesk with their questions and concerns because, well, I’m an expert in that area. If you need help or information, please get in touch with us.

Nathalie

Hi! My name is Nathalie, I’ve been working at the Young Mothers Helpdesk (Loket voor Jonge Moeders) since July 2023. I work from Monday to Thursday and focus on guiding young parents. Next to that I run one of our consultation hours, and I handle all our communication (like content for our social media!). I love my job and find it very fulfilling. Together with my team I hope to make a difference for young parents in The Hague. Are you a young parent and do you want more information, guidance, or do you just want to chat? Make an appointment through our website, and perhaps I’ll see you soon during one of our consultation hours!

Marina

Hi, I’m Marina, mom of three kids and living in Zoetermeer. I’ve been working at the Young Mothers Helpdesk (Loket voor Jonge Moeders) since 2022. I was 23 when I became a mother, I know what being a young mom is like. I mostly focus on guidance, but you can also see me during one of our consultation hours. I especially like that we help young mothers as well as young fathers. We aim to involve the surroundings of our clients as well, so we can make sure the kids have the best possible living environment. We are here to assist you with your questions about various practical aspects of parenthood and answer any questions about parenting, but also if you just want to chat. Don’t hesitate to make an appointment! I work on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
